FAITH LEADERS SPEAK OUT FOR HIV TESTING
Greater Than AIDS, in partnership with Philly Faith in Action, launched the first Greater Than AIDS faith focused campaign in Philadelphia in September. Public service announcements placed around the city feature four faith leaders proclaiming 'I Got Tested' and highlight the importance of knowing one's status.

'I Got Tested' messages, which debuted in June, will be placed in 13 cities this fall. The ads feature real people sharing testing experiences and urging others to "join the movement."

Walgreens and Greater Than AIDS are called out in Elton John's new book, Love is the Cure, for commitment to HIV/AIDS and collaboration between corporate and non-profit partners. The Elton John AIDS Foundation is a founding partner of Greater Than AIDS, and Walgreens is an active corporate ally of the movement, expanding access to HIV testing in many communities.

LEADERSHIP: GREATER THAN AIDS AT THE CONGRESSIONAL BLACK CAUCUS
Black leaders have a role to play in ending HIV/AIDS in the United States. That was the topic of discussion at a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation panel coordinated by the Black AIDS Institute and
Greater Than AIDS. The panel was hosted by Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), moderated by Black AIDS Institute head Phill Wilson and featured notable panelists including NAACP Chair Rosalyn Brock, Rep. Maxine Waters, and actress Sheryl Lee Ralph. A video produced by Greater Than AIDS kicked off the event.

"TOGETHER" GREATER THAN AIDS AT U.S. CONFERENCE ON AIDS
Carrying the torch on from AIDS 2012, Greater Than AIDS is at the United States Conference on AIDS this week in Las Vegas. Find Greater Than AIDS at the Walgreens and the Black AIDS Institute booths in the Exhibit Hall. There is a Walgreens/Greater Than AIDS photo booth and tons of free gear. Walgreens and Greater Than AIDS representatives will also be featured on a panel discussing corporate partnerships.

DALLAS>AIDS LAUNCHES DECIDING MOMENTS CAMPAIGN FEATURING LOCAL
RESIDENTS
A student, a radio show host, a father and his son, and a devoted mother are among the Dallas residents featured in a new Deciding Moments campaign, which includes people living with HIV. The campaign was produced as part of DALLAS>AIDS, a joint effort of the Dallas County Health and Human Services, Texas Department of State Health Services and Greater Than AIDS. New billboard, transit, print and radio public service ads featuring the local cast will appear in Dallas beginning in October 2012.

MIAMI>AIDS
Community organizations and the Miami Dade County Department of
Health are distributing Greater Than AIDS community
materials in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole, thanks to the
generous partnership of the Miami Foundation. Complementing the
materials are extended TV, radio and outdoor ads, placed by the
county health department and national campaign in partnership
with
Test Miami.

GEORGIA>AIDS
The Georgia Department of Public Health hosted a photo booth,
distributed hundreds of "Knowledge is Power" towels and
Greater Than AIDS mardi gras bead condom kits at one of
the nation’s largest Black Pride Events. The materials were
complemented by outdoor, radio and print PSAs. Coming up soon are
the "For Sisters Only" event with local CBS Radio station
V-103FM, and a transgender ball, events in a series of outreach
efforts targeting most affected communities in Georgia.

ARKANSAS>AIDS
The Arkansas Department of Health, in collaboration with Greater Than AIDS founding partner Black AIDS Institute, hosted a Testing Tour in Arkansas in September. The tour brought free HIV testing, food, and entertainment to Conway, West Memphis and Dermott.

2012: KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING
Greater Than AIDS was everywhere at the International AIDS Conference, held in D.C. in July. The campaign helped take over two prime D.C. metro stations with PSAs, co-produced a Washington Post Live event featuring top HIV experts, and manned a destination booth in the Global Village visited by everyone from actor Danny Glover to UNAIDS head Michel Sidibe. Phill Wilson of the Black AIDS Institute, a co-founding partner of Greater Than AIDS, delivered a powerful plenary address on the first day of the conference, calling on the global audience to be "Greater Than AIDS". Black AIDS Institute is helping keep the conversation going with a series of post-conference meet-ups.

'I GOT TESTED' AT ESSENCE MUSIC FEST 2012 ESSENCE and Greater Than AIDS, together with the Black AIDS Institute and Louisiana Office of Public Health, provided on-site, free and rapid oral HIV testing to concert goers at the annual ESSENCE Music Festival. Nearly 1,000 people were tested at the booth and some reported that the Greater Than AIDS booth has become their routine HIV test.

ACTOR DANNY GLOVER: WE SHOULD ALL GET INVOLVEDActor Danny Glover has been an AIDS activist since the early years of the epidemic, after watching a friend die of AIDS-related-illness. The "Lethal Weapon" star spoke at the Greater Than AIDS booth in the Global Village during AIDS 2012 about his commitment to fighting HIV.
